About the Instructor
Eric has been in the fire service for 40 years, beginning with his hometown fire department in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, when he was still in high school. Eric served on the Oconomowoc Fire Department as both a firefighter and EMT for 10 years and achieved the rank of Lieutenant before his departure.
Eric worked for the City of Green Bay Fire Department (GBFD) for over 26 years, from 1993 to 2019. During his tenure at GBFD, he received his paramedic certification and was a member of the Brown County Hazardous Material Response Team, Brown County Fire Investigation Task Force, and the Northeast Wisconsin Incident Management Team. For six years plus, Eric worked in the fire training office and was in charge of its operation for most of that time, overseeing safety and training for a staff of just under 200 personnel.
In 2018, Eric was hired by Depere Fire & Rescue (DPFR) as their Training and Safety Officer. Coming from a larger department, he was able to implement several improvements and raise the level of preparedness for the staff of DPFR. Eric retired from DPFR in July of 2022 to complete his vision of having his own training company.
During his tenure as a public servant, Eric received an associate degree in Fire Science Technology from Pikes Peak College, a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management from UW-Green Bay, and a master’s degree in Fire Service Leadership with an Emphasis in Disaster Management from Grand Canyon University.
Eric served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 1985-2005 as a combat medic and a flight medic. He received several awards and medals, including the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Oversees Ribbon, and the Army Meritorious Service Ribbon. .
